This year, one of my goals is to share more of what is happening in the world of Healing House of Beauty and myself.
One reason for this is to provide more value in a way that isn’t tied to an algorithm, which doesn’t align with my goal. It can be exhausting to do things based on someone else’s purpose and not your own, because:
Many of you connected with me through social media, but algorithms can be exhausting and they dictate what content reaches you, and the focus many times is on trends or popular topics rather than creating, valuable, genuine communication, and authenticity.
The other reason is a little selfish - I love writing, I do, since a teen, I've written poetry and I journal a ton, but didn’t make as much time as I would have loved to. So this year, I want to use the skills that I love and want to get better at so that I can share them with you.
Now for the point of this specific email. This morning as I was listening to one of my favorite books, I realized this is the perfect time to share again.
Last year, I committed to read/listen to one or more books per week. Not only did I achieve that goal, but I exceeded it, thanks to YouTube University and its huge library of free audiobooks.
In 2023, one of my favorite books to read and listen to was, and still is, "Atomic Habits" by James Clear. While I've read many books on productivity and similar topics, this book delves into:
It completely influenced how I create and implement habits, especially in December which helped me to start the year off even better. The book completely transformed my routines thus making a major difference. It’s for you if you’re aiming to make lasting changes in 2024 and beyond.
A few days ago, I discovered that the book had been ranked as the #1 bestselling book in both 2022 and 2023.
As we navigate the early weeks of this year, many of you have either set goals or are in the process of setting them. It's often easy to lose momentum, especially when goals become overwhelming shortly after, but not for you.
Our present actions shape the results we desire, based on our habits. As Gandhi said,
Your beliefs become your thoughts, your thoughts become your words, your words become your actions, your actions become your habits, your habits become your values, your values become your destiny- Gandhi
I encourage you to take the time, if possible, to read this book as one of your first reads of the year. Using the book, I am still working on gaining better clarity to achieve my intentions and goals for 2024.
It takes a moment to make life-changing decisions, but repeating these decisions over and over is what creates habits, and it can take 45 to 90 days to make them stick.

One thing I do is get a copy of a book and read along with the author. It activates multiple areas of the brain. I know, I'm a nerd. Don’t judge me!

Lastly, we can’t deny that various cards that are stacked against us in many ways but, when we proactively take steps to shift our life—mind, body, and soul—it doesn’t matter what people do to try and stop us.
We become unstoppable.
